Just Too Cute

Some New Tricks

Here Sammy is starting to grab his toes and kind of rock back and forth
Hello!
He is getting much better in the saucer nowadays. Sometimes he can even turn himself to another part of the saucer. Before we know it he will be spinning circles like my little brother Daniel used to do.
Something was done in the oven, so I had to set Sammy down on the floor real quick and when I came back, he was still holding his bottle all on his own! Daddy will be so happy! (Robert hates having to hold the bottle for him because he is usually paying attention to something else)

Wednesday

Cuddling Up

Here are some pictures from Sammy and me snuggling up to watch a movie. I just can't get over how fast he is growing and how he looks like a little boy more and more each day!

Sunday

New Callings

So, I guess our friends and family would be interested in knowing that our ward has finally gotten around to including us in the ward family and we both have been given callings. Robert was called a couple weeks ago to be the Elder's Quorum secretary and today I was called to work in the nursery. I know, the dreaded nursery, but I am hoping it will be fun and I think it will sort of help prepare me for when Sammy gets to be in his "terrible two's", who knows!

Feeling Loved

First of all, I got my Mother's Day gift this week, a new KitchenAid mixer! This is also the big, bad boy. You know, the five quart bowl that lifts up to the mixer with the beefy motor? Yep, it now belongs to me! And of course, what do you have to do with a new mixer? Make chocolate chip cookies, yumm!
Next, while we were shopping at Sam's last night (our favorite Saturday night hang-out these days), Robert got me two dozen beautiful white roses!! They just melt my heart every time I walk into the kitchen! It is amazing what a simple thing or act can do to change your attitude!
And last, but not least, my new toolkit. Seriously, this is my own set of tools that I can use around the house when I need them. My mom gave them to me (which was really sweet) and even Robert thought it was a really cool idea, he was even just the tinsiest bit jealous! (ha ha ha) And yes, I have already used them. I finally bought new blinds and nice curtains for my living room and I installed them myself using these handy dandy tools. (they really do work and are of good quality, which is amazing, you'd think they'd be cheap and kind of a joke)

Friday

Babbling

This was yesterday morning before I got Sammy out of bed. He was just talking and cooing to himself, it was soo cute! Not often is he ok with just being in his bed (usually he cries to be picked up) so I thought I would catch on "film", so to speak. Sammy, as you can see, is very happy in the mornings right after getting up, it makes my day!

Sammy in the Saucer

So here is Sammy loving his new saucer. He loves all the toys he has to play with, but mainly he loves the fact that it helps him sit up and be able to see everyone and everything.
Here Sammy has discovered his little friend in the mirror. It is sooo cute to watch him just smile at himself and be amazed at his reflection. He even tries to "talk" to it, too! :)

Tuesday

My First Mother's Day

So my first Mother's Day as a Mom was great! My older sister Candace is a flourist, so she made me a beautiful orchid corsage to wear all day. Then at church they gave us yellow flowers, which isn't anything too special, but it was to me because it was the first time I got one! Then we went over to my parent's house for a wonderful dinner of ham, funeral potatoes and rolls. Robert bought me a new KitchenAid mixer for Mother's Day because he knows I have been coveting one for a long time and they were on sale, so it will come sometime within the next week or so, I can't wait!! Lastly, Mother's Day will always be a little extra special to us because it was exactly one year ago on Mother's Day that we found out that a sweet little one was going to be joining our family! It was pretty cool to be able to call our moms and tell them that they would be grandmas again!

Saturday

Pizza Time!

So here are my little bros, Daniel and Matthew, over for some homemade pizzas last night. With Robert working so much lately (from 7 am to 9 pm most days), I figured I could babysit my little brothers so my parents can go out on the town and have a nice dinner. Also that way Sammy and I don't spend Friday nights alone, so it works out great!
A week or two ago, I was babysitting Matt for my Mom while she went to the dentist and we had leftover homemade pizza that I had made by myself (believe it or not!) and Matty couldn't believe that I had made my own pizza, so I promised him that I would show him how he could make his own pizza.
I actually took the easy way out this time and just defrosted some Rhoades rolls and we made little personal pizzas. Both Dan and Matt loved putting as many (or as little) toppings on their pizzas as they wanted and then getting to enjoy them. A fun project!

Friday

Sleeping Anywhere

So I had put Sammy in his saucer so I could do a few things and he was kind of crying, but not very hard, so I just ignored him. Then, I suddenly realized that it was very quiet and I turn around to find him like this.
He had actually fallen asleep in his saucer! Usually when he is tired, Sammy will cry until I wrap him up snug and rock him/hold him for a little while, but today he gave up the fight. I'm sure this will not be the last time this will happen, but it was just so adorable!

Thursday

Sammy's New Toy

So Sammy has been ready for this for a few weeks, but we have been looking around trying to find the best saucer for the best deal. But last night we were in Provo visiting my sister and we decided to go ahead and bite the bullet and get him the beloved saucer. We stayed up late putting it together so he could enoy it first thing this morning.

As you can see in the movie, he is still getting used to the idea, but he loves being up and able to see everything and enjoys all the colorful toys. I think this will soon become his favorite place to be!
