PROOF that Sammy can crawl

So everyone has been asking for video proof that Sammy can crawl, especially Daddy, so here it is for everyone to see, I'm actually amazed that I was able to get him to do it so easily! It takes a minute at the beginning to get him to actually start crawling, so be patient, it will come! Enjoy!!

Bathy Time!

Since coming to stay with Oma and Opa, we have had to find a better way to bathe Sammy because he no longer fits in the baby bath tub, but the big bath tub is just too hard for Mommy to keep a hold on Sammy and feel comfortable. So, we worked out this solution. We bathe him in the utility sink in a clean container used for washing dishes by hand (obviously it is no longer used for this purpose) so that we don't have to scrub the kitchen sink clean every night. Sammy loves this and finds it fun to splash all over Mommy every time he gets in.

Back to Sammy

This is our little guy during his long nap in the mornings. He always sleeps from 10 until noon, no matter what time we get up, it's great!
Sammy enjoying the wagon wheels that I got for him. He has really been liking the finger foods that are available for babies transitioning into eating real food from wagon wheels to rice puffs to yogurt wisps.
This is Sammy enjoying looking at the "ruff ruff" or doggie. He loves to sit in front of the french doors and watch KC run around the yard and sniff things. He kind of calls out to him but when it comes time to be outside with KC and pet him, he gets a little scared and just stiffens up and won't move. So adorable!
This is what I found this morning when I came out of the bathroom and looked around for Sammy. He was wedging himself between the two couches to grab some toy or other interesting thing and all I could see were his feet!

Friday

Baby #2 Update

So we went to see the Dr. this week and got the official due date, which is a little later than I thought, so that is why the ticker is set back a few days. My official date is April 8, 2009. Everything is looking great and I got to see the baby on the ultrasound, soo exciting!! We'll be sure to keep everyone updated as we have more appointments, etc.
Robert is doing well in Oregon, he loves working with tractors and farm equipment, so he is in his element!! We found out that he may be able to come home early if they finish the harvest sooner, but the flipside to that is that if they don't finish in a month, he does have to stay until they are done, so pray that they will work hard and fast so we can see our beloved Daddy sooner!
Sammy is learning to crawl, which Mommy has been dreading for some time, but it is exciting to watch him grow! He is also starting to eat food almost entirely. He only has a bottle in the afternoon and one at night, so the barfing has dramatically dropped off (thankfully!) and he is much happier!!

Wednesday

Going, Going, Gone

So we are finally all moved out of our house at the storage units, but that also means that Robert is now in Oregon and Sammy and I are here in Utah. I was realizing these last few days how much Robert helps me with Sammy: taking him out for walks so I can sleep, giving him baths at night when I'm tired, and taking him from me so I can clean up from yet another episode of barfing (although thankfully these are slowly becoming less frequent). I am really going to miss my sweetheart this next month, but it will help strengthen us all the more! Wish us luck!!

Saturday

Sammy's First Haircut

You can see here how badly Daddy needs his hair cut, he looks like an afroman!!!

Sammy and Daddy both got haircuts yesterday and it was Sammy's first. It is a bit shorter than we thought it would be, but maybe now everyone will quit mistaking him as a girl!! He hated the buzzer, but what little kid doesn't? :)
In other news with the Skousen family, Robert found a job!! Well, sort of anyways. The company wants to hire him, but they are going to have him go up and work for a month to make sure they really want him and also to make sure he likes the job. So, we are madly packing everything up and putting it into storage until we can move and Sammy and I will move in with Oma and Opa while Daddy is away working. Wish us luck!! Robert leaves Wednesday after taking his little brother, Jake, into the MTC for his mission to Korea!

Thursday

An Announcement

I guess we might as well tell everyone now our good news, since most of you already know. We are expecting again!! I know, it is a little quick, but it's what the Lord wanted for us, so we take what we are given gladly. He or she is probably due around the end of March, beginning of April. We'll keep you all updated with ultrasounds and Dr visits, etc.

Wednesday

So Many Trips, So Little Time!

This is Sammy at Grandma's houseOut campin'
He really crashed when we went camping!
My happy little camper in the motorhome!

Sorry it has been so long since I've blogged, but we have just been crazy busy with all our trips lately! Since our last trip to Snowflake, Arizona, we have been to Hyder, Arizona (where my husband is from) and also up by Strawberry Reservior in Utah. We went to Hyder for about a week for a wedding reception of one of Robert's friends and for his little brother's farewell, his cousin's homecoming and his other cousin's Eagle Court of Honor, all on the same day! Whew!! We also enjoyed shotgun shooting, motorcycle riding and just visiting with Grandma and Grandpa!
Then, two days after getting back from that trip, we left again to go with Oma and Opa to Strawberry Reservoir to go camping in the motorhome. It was a reunion of my dad's five childhood friends nicknamed the "Hairlips", don't ask me why! We had fun getting to know the other guys' kids and just enjoying some quiet time up in the mountains. Although the last night and day it rained cats and dogs!!!
So now we are finally home for a good little while, at least we hope! Robert is currently looking for a job as a farm manager somewhere and I have quit my job at the nursing home, so we may be moving out of our house to allow new managers to move in and be trained before we leave, so our break from packing may not be all that long, hopefully it will be long enough to allow Mommy to recover!!
