Look Who's Smiling!!
I can't believe I actually got this shot of him smiling, but he is! (and no, it isn't from gas) He loves his bouncey seat because it allows him to hang out with Mom in the office! :)
But of course now that I'm not paying rapid attention to him, he is crying, so I'd better go. Enjoy!

Sammy at his sweetest times today
These were so sweet, I had to post them right away. The bottom picture is Sammy in his swing just enjoying life. The top one is Sammy this morning. I stayed up until midnight working on a paper for school, so when Sammy got up (of course it was just as Robert was leaving for work), I brought him into bed with me so I could sleep a little longer and he fell asleep too. Stuck under his cheek is his binkie that fell out of his mouth! So cute!

More From the Sammy Corner
A Few Random Ones
First, we have Robert with his new truck when we bought it in Washington this last summer. With Robert working 20+ miles away, it wasn't really practical for me to drive him to work so then I could go to work, so we got a Toyota Tacoma that we split with Jacob, his little brother.
The other two pictures are from this last Halloween. We had a great time carving pumpkins with my best friend Renee and her fiance', Nick. (now they are happily married)
Snowboarding!!
Time to Get Back to Sammy!
Monday
Members in Mexico
This is the mother and brother of one of Robert's good friends from his mission (his friend was on his mission at the time) that we visited at their shrimp stand in the market.
This is a family that Robert lived with on his mission. The parents would try to keep the little boy from going up to where the missionaries lived, so they told him that a big cat lived up there and would eat him if he went up. So, when he would get curious, Robert and his companions would "meow" at him to keep the story up, thus earning the little boy the nickname of "Meow". He remembered Robert when we visited and still had the bike Robert and his companions gave him right before Robert was transferred.
This family Robert converted and helped get ready for the temple as well.
Robert taught this lady and her daughter, although I don't believe they joined the Church while he was there. The mom is a judge and her daughter had just been married when we visited.
This last photo is of a family that Robert taught. They have five daughters and one son (the boy is in blue next to Robert) When we stopped by to say hi, they practically forced us to allow them to feed us before we left the next day. When we got there, they had made this dish called Mole (said mo-lay) and a pink drink from a flower and were very concerned when I didn't eat very much because I had gotten sick from the heat and all the Mexican food up to that point. A very sweet family.

Honeymoon Continued
The sunny picture is us on our boat ride we took up a river where we saw lots of cool sites like the Christmas Tree waterfall, a huge dam that provides electricity to, like 30% of Mexico, and this cave that the Mexicans believe is sacred because it looks like there is the face of Christ in the rocks. The next picture is us having dinner at a restaurant in Tuxtla that was up almost on the top of the mountain and we could see the whole city at night, it was gorgeous! Then we have the pictures that our Moms hate! Robert was friends with a member who owns a mortuary and on his mission, he sent his Mom a picture of him in his suit with a Book of Mormon in the coffin, so of course we had to go back to say hi and to get coffin pictures again! I have to admit, it was kind of creepy having them close the lid on me, even though they left the top open (there was still glass over me)
Luna de Miel (Honeymoon)
So here we have us by yet another waterfall. We wore our swimsuits because we thought we could swim in at least one of the four we went to that day, but instead we got rained on! The swans are actually towels rolled up. Our first place we stayed at was a little house all to ourselves and the staff knew it was our honeymoon, so we came back from siteseeing one day to find this waiting for us on our bed. The other two pictures are members from Robert's mission that were very dear to him. With Robert is Santiago who I believe Robert converted and then later served a mission and at the time we visited had married and had a beautiful baby girl. The other picture is a family (I can't remember their names, sorry!) that I believe Robert baptized the Mom and then they were married civily and when we visited, they had been sealed in the temple!

More Seattle Pictures
First, we have a picture of the famous Pike's Market (where they throw the fish, like in Free Willey) where everyone stands around waiting for the guys to throw the fish, but no one buys any fish to throw, so they get kind of irritated. :) Next is a picture at the Flight Museum with one of the cool airplanes. (I know, like Flight Museum is such a hard name to remember (see previous post) but I thought it was a more unique name than that) Lastly, we have Robert at the Science Museum (again, a simple name I simply couldn't remember) sitting at a table that makes him look miniature. I think the idea was to instead of scaling down the table and chairs, they were so big it made it look like you were scaled down instead or something like that. I just love it because Robert looks like the little kid he always acts like. :)

Sleepy Time
As we are quickly finding out, babies sleep alot and that is what Sammy is usually doing when we take pictures, so I will only post a few of the good ones, but I loved this picture of Sammy and Daddy takin a snooze on the couch together. In the other one, Sammy is wearing his favorite outfit and loving his baby bouncer that Oma and Opa got for him!
Saturday
Sammy's Favorite People
So here are pictures of some of Sammy's favorite people holding him. First is my little sister April holding Sammy when he is only about an hour old right before she headed back to Logan for school. Next, we have Auntie Candace the day after Sammy was born. Then there is Oma (my mom, that is grandma in Dutch) holding Sammy after his first bath. Last, we have Uncle Matt holding Sammy during one of his visits with Oma after kindergarten.
Friday
Try Again
Ok, so I'm still really new at all of this blogspot stuff, so I won't be posting the slideshows, but I will pick out the best pictures and post them over time. Sorry 'bout that guys!
Samuel Kent Skousen arrives
Welcome to Our Blogspot
Hey, thanks for viewing our blogspot. I figured this would be an easier way to let people see all the cute pictures we want to share of Samuel. This way we can also take comments and people can check whenever they want to. I will kick it off with the slideshow that Robert made and sent out when Sammy was first born (with some changes) along with a second slideshow I created with all the pictures we have taken over the past two weeks. Hope you enjoy!
