More of Sammy

Looks like the scene from Willy Wonka where Violet's dad is eating the red rope, doesn't it?
Eating Auntie Shanna's headphones - a real treat!

Sweet dreams
This is how my sweet little guy fell asleep on me yesterday, so cute!!

Wednesday

Some GREAT News!

This is Sammy trying out some of the toys they have out at Sam's Club for Christmas
We have been enjoying our visit with Grandma and Grandpa Skousen out in Hyder, Arizona where the weather reminds us of anything besides wintertime!

My little man! He loved this bouncey horse, but as you can see behind him, it's not going to be a present anytime soon!
Sammy has really been enjoying his little push car we got for him. As long as someone follows to redirect when needed, he will go around and around the house!! As for our good news, Robert has finally, after two months of unemployment, found a job! And it will be a very good one, too! We will be moving to Ririe, Idaho (by Rexburg) where Robert will be the assistant farm manager on a potato farm. The job provides a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house, health insurance for the family and a vehicle for Robert to drive to work! So many blessings have been poured out and we are grateful first and foremost to Heavenly Father and also to all those who have prayed and supported us during this trying time.

Across the West

Back end with the two semi trucks pushing up the hill
The back of the tank thing

The thing itsself. It looks like some sort of tank, but we weren't sure

The front end of the whole she-bang
So on our roundabout trip to Arizona, we stopped by Nevada and California to check out job possibilities. These pictures are of something huge (blue) that they were towing from California all the way to Utah. It had two pilot cars in front and two in back, along with two police escorts at each end as well. This rig was HUGE!!! It literally took up both sides of the road, which explains all the escorts. It was also so large and heavy that it had 1 semi truck in front pulling and two on the back pushing! Not something you see everyday, or on every road trip!

First Snow

It snowed today for the first time this season and Sammy just loved it!

Here, he has crawled over to the french doors and is licking the window because he is so excited about the huge snowflakes falling outside

He is such a happy camper, I love my little man!!

A New Toy for Sammy

It has been a while since we have bought Sammy a new toy and yesterday we were up by DI, so we went shopping for a new toy for Sammy. We came home with the perfect toy for the perfect price. We found a little car for $2 that Sammy can either ride, or it turns into kind of a push cart. Here is a little movie of him trying it out and as you can see, he absolutely loves it! Our little boy will be walking in no time, I can't believe it!

Saturday

First Halloween

Our little pumpkin! He wouldn't look at the camer, he was having so much fun with the piano
Robert was a welder, Sammy was a pumpkin, I was a bloody nurse, Daniel was a ninja and Matt was a knight

Here's all of us again. Later we were joined by April and John who were 80's peeps and Candace, who was a dead "Where's Waldo" who had been found by the mafia. Yeah, we had a great time!

Oma and Sammy at the piano

Sammy was so excited to be a pumpkin and go trick-or-treating. His first was pretty fun, I think with uncles and aunts dressing up as well!

Friday

Our Truck is No More

Yesterday we make the long drive up to Ogden to get our stuff out of what is left of our little truck. For those who did not hear the story, Robert was driving back to Oregon after April's wedding and hit an icy patch on the freeway. The truck spun twice before hitting one of those large, green "Exit in 1/2 mile" type signs. As you can see, it desimated our little pickup.
And thankfully, the truck was between Robert and the sign, so he was not hurt at all. Walked away with no cuts, bruises or worse injuries. And, Robert didn't hit anyone else or cause anyone else to wreck, although there were many other accidents on that strip of freeway that day.

Also thankfully, we had just paid for our auto insurance that week AND, I had been trying to convince Robert that we didn't need to keep paying for comprehensive insurance, now that Jacob was on his mission. Had we not paid the insurance right away and had we not continued our full coverage, we would have had to be out all that money we just spent on the truck. But, the truck was valued at nearly the same price we paid for it over a year ago!

Goodbye little truck! We have loved having you!! :(

Want to take a Guess?

So a couple weeks ago, my OB Dr. called me about my mid-pregnancy blood test results to let me know that the test for spina bifida came back elevated, meaning my chances of having a baby with spina bifida were 1 in 11. For those of you who don't know a whole lot, basically spina bifida is a defect of the spinal cord. These children have many health issues including being paralyzed. So we went in this morning to re-draw the labs to double check the results and to have an ultrasound to see if any defect was detectable. Thank goodness the baby looks completely fine, everything is great. The baby's measurements are right on with my due date and she looks to be a strong, healthy baby. Yes, I said SHE!!!! We will be having a beautiful baby girl and we are thrilled! As far as names are concerned, we always seem to agree on boys names, but not girls, so if anyone has suggestions, feel free to share! I like Alexus, so then we can call her Lexie (my mom's and his mom's names combined) or Olivia and call her Livy or Ruth. Robert has said he likes Mary or Rebecca, but we can't seem to find one name we both absolutely love, like with Sammy. I will try to be able to scan in the ultrasound pictures later when I have the computer genius around, but I wanted to post our good news!

Visiting the Potters

This is Camilla, Potter girl #4, sitting up
She falls asleep on her tummy on the floor all the time, it's so adorable!!

This is Karalie, Potter girl #3. They call her their "cherub angel" because of her rosy cheeks and golden curls. It is also unique because Mom and Dad and all her sisters have dark brown hair!

Potter girl #1, Natalie. She loves having her picture taken. I haven't gotten Lucy (#2) to sit still enough for a picture yet, but I promise I will get one and post it soon!
