Last Days

So I have some great news!! I get to quit my job after this week, HOORAY!!!! Don't get me wrong, I love the people at work (I work at a nursing home) but working nights has really been hard on the entire family, but most especially me and I will be extremely grateful to say farewell. So off to bigger and better things, which will hopefully include Robert working and Mommy getting to stay at home with Sammy again. Sammy has really become a daddy's boy since Mommy went to work, so I hope to re-establish myself with him so that it is me he wants when he is tired or sad!

Quick Trip to Snowflake, Arizona

So last week we went on a quick trip to Snowflake, Arizona for Robert to interview for a job with Euro Fresh Farms. They grow tomatoes in water. It ended up not panning out as a job for us, but we enjoyed spending time together as a family. Sammy did well on both plane rides and the rental car was not too bad. We rented a PT Cruiser just for kicks and giggles. Unfortunately, I only had the presence of mind to get a few pictures of Sammy on our way back to the airport. He was having alot of fun playing with a plastic cup, until he lost it somewhere........

Monday

2nd Anniversary

For our 2nd Anniversary, we returned to the Bed & Breakfast that we stayed at on our wedding night. Only this time, we got a little nicer room. We spent the afternoon swimming with my family, then went to check in and found this...

Then we went out to dinner at Chef's Table where I tried lamb for the first time. It was ok, but I think I'll stick with the regular meats. Needless to say, we had a very enjoyable and romantic night. And many, many thanks to Oma and Opa for watching Sammy for us so we could get away! And our gifts to each other? Robert got a Camelback for mountain biking and I got a Journey necklace, only instead of diamonds, it is made out of sapphires!! I'll have to include pictures of it later

Skousen Reunion Continued

This one turned out to not be in focus, but Ellie is still so adorable! She is the older of Kayla's kids
Sammy's wrestling Daddy to the ground and giving us his best mean wrestler face! :)
One of Sammy's new favorite things to do is to stick one or two fingers in the corner of his mouth and gag himself, as if he needs any more help barfing!!
This is the house we stayed at. It is Robert's dad's cousin's house and he lets friends and family use it for reunions and vacations for almost free. They just ask you to make a donation to the Perpetual Education Fund or a scholarship they have set up. This way it can't be considered a business and they get to avoid all the restrictions and guidelines.

Skousen Family Reunion 2008

Sorry it has been a while since my last post. Life has been crazy with work and all our trips sqeezed into the last month and a half of summer. This last week we went down to Manti to stay at a vacation home with Robert's family for a reunion before his little brother, Jake, leaves on his mission to Seoul, Korea in September. Sammy really enjoyed the beach in his pack-n-play.
Enjoying the coolness of the lake. Yes, that is Robert doing the monkey jump off the dock! They had a blast with canoes, a football and a floating dock. It's amazing what fun such simple items can bring when you combine them with five men!!
Yes, we actually went real golfing for the first time ever! Isn't this view gorgeous?! But the little splotch of green in the left corner is where the hole was and a canyon was in between, not many made the stretch!
Here's Kayla's sweetheart Emma on the swings outside the house.
